Welcome aboard the USS Yamato!

"The claim 'I was only following orders' has been used to justify too many tradegies in our history. Starfleet does not want officers who will blindly follow orders without analysing the situation" Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

"Yamato". A name which has always been associated with the Legendary IJN Yamato of the Japanese Navy. Originally named after the Yamato Province in Japan, the 20th Century Battleship was one of the largest, heavily armed vessels ever constructed for war on Earth.

Today however, the name Yamato has a very different meaning. Newly refitted with the latest and most advanced technology, the Federation Starship Yamato is a formidable opponent in any situation. The new refits of the Sovereign class included the installation of additional science and specialist laboratories, and extra equipment for long range, deep space missions. As well as new advanced tactical systems and computer enhancements. The Yamato is one of Starfleet's most advanced Sovereign Class Attack Cruisers.

The ship is commanded by Captain Kaede Kayano, a decorated officer of the fleet who is a veteran of the Dominion War. The USS Yamato is assigned to the 7th Fleet, commonly known as Theta Fleet.

The Yamato is assigned to wherever Starfleet needs it to go. One day it could find itself patrolling the Romulan Neutral Zone, investigating why monitoring posts have fallen silent and the next it may find itself on the other edge of the quadrant dealing with easy to anger Cardassians and sly Ferengi who are out to make a large profit in their latest enterprise.

Welcome to the adventures of the Federation Starship Yamato. May you find us an interesting crew, where nothing is ever truly "normal". However you can be guaranteed a fun and interesting Star Trek experience whilst serving on the ship that carries the legendary name Yamato.

Mission: Back Into Action
Posted on Sun Jul 5th, 2026 @ 8:03pm by Lieutenant William Lancaster III & Captain Kaede Kayano

"Yamato Flight Control, this is the runabout Tyne. Requesting confirmation and clearance to land."

"Confirmed, Tyne, cargo shuttles are out of the way and you are cleared for Main Shuttlebay. Welcome to the Yamato."

"Thank you, Flight Control. Beginning final approach now..."

Billy heard the regulation chatter of the pilot and the ship's personnel as the solid old Danube-class runabout banked in its flight path, and the future, his future, came into view. He couldn't help a small, brief smile.

His dark brown gaze roamed over the ship with expectation and a keen eye for detail. The vessel was clean…

"...But, William, you'll be so far! When will I get to see you again? You'll be lightyears away from everything, your home, everyone you know..."

Abigail Lancaster, every bit the grand, aristocratic lady today as she'd been as he grew up, looked like she might cry. She held a handkerchief to just under her eyes, trying so hard not to let the tears fall or to smudge her makeup. If not for the distance between them, just over twenty-two thousand kilometers, a paltry, insignificant measurement, Billy would have reached out to hug her.

That's kind of the point, he thought…

Mission: Back Into Action
Posted on Tue Jun 30th, 2026 @ 1:16am by Captain Kaede Kayano & Lieutenant Miku Uesugi

"What have I gotten myself into?!"

The young Lieutenant anxiously paced back-and-forth; one hand could be seen fidgeting restlessly at her hip while the other tightly clutched an empty can of Matcha BOOST, the contents of which she had both opened and consumed in the span of a half-hour. Watching her with a look of concern was a tall, slender male, of whom was leaning back against a bulkhead with his leg propped up and arms folded.

"And how exactly were you supposed to anticipate that THE Kaede Kayano was coming back, Miku?" the male stated calmly. "We already knew…

Mission: Back Into Action
Posted on Fri Jun 12th, 2026 @ 11:44pm by Lieutenant Williamina Pierce MD & Lieutenant JG Talissa Solwick

Location: USS Yamato, Personal Quarters Deck 6

Talissa was still trying to process her meeting with the Captain. Kaede was her second commanding officer, and her first time meeting an El-Aurian. She was different. But in a good way, she had a way of breaking through your barriers.

As she walked into her room, with her duffel bag still draped over her shoulder, she took a good look around. It was cozy, and slightly larger than her previous quarters aboard the USS Portland.

She was already mentally trying to figure out, where the items in her room were going to…

"Oh you were serious about that!" Talissa said a little surprised. She assumed the captain asked that question, to cut the ice, and learn the quirks of her senior staff. She stood there for a moment. She then asked, "What's your favorite blend of tea, Captain?"

"Going straight to the hard questions," Kaede laughed. "I like pretty much every type of tea. But it has to be fresh of course. If I had to pick a favourite, I suppose you can't beat a good simple black tea. It brings back fond memories of long ago. Plus, its simple and often…
