The Sim

The ship was retired from Military service in 1935 and converted into a Floating Prison and Juvenile training center by Japan's Ministry of Justice. However A typhoon swamped the ship by the mouth of the Tsurumi River in Tokyo Bay in September 1945 causing the ship to founder. She was eventually raised and scrapped in 1950.

Yamato had the biggest guns, and at the time was the biggest warship in the world. However she was seen more as a symbol by Japan and did not see much action. She met her demise by the Navy of the United States of America. After Eleven Torpedoes and Six bombs, Yamato founded beneath the waves, ending the Battleship Era and ultimately causing Japan to surrender to the United States, therefore ending World War Two.
This ship was to become the most famous ship to carry the name Yamato and is still known to this day.
In 2246, Starfleet Launched the USS Yamato. A Constitution Class Starship. She patrolled the Federation/Klingon neutral zone and engaged the Klingons several times. When the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 was refitted in 2266 the USS Yamato followed her and was refitted to the same Specifications alongside the USS Lexington, USS Yorktown and USS Constitution. The Yamato then procedeed on a four year exploration mission. She was commanded by Commodore Haruhi Tainaka, one of Starfleets finest commanders to come out of Starfleet Tokyo.
In 2270, the ship returned to Earth after her four year mission having made contact with over twenty six new civilizations and charting three hundred and nine systems on her journey. She was then refitted with the newest technology and became a Constitution Mk II Class. Commodore Tainaka retained her command the the Yamato was assigned once again along the Federation/Klingon neutral zone. Several years later, in 2293, when Captain Kirk of the USS Enterprise was arrested by the Klingons, the USS Yamato was considered for Operation Retrieve. However instead Starfleet assigned the USS Eagle in her place as the Yamato was ordered to protect Federation Planets in the sector incase of any counter attack.
Shortly after, the Yamato was taken off of active duty due to her age. With the crew either now retired or reassigned the ship was assigned to Starfleet Academy as a training vessel where to this day she still serves. However her warp drive is limited to short distances and she rarely leaves the Sol System.
The name Yamato was once again used by Starfleet in the early 2360's to christen the sister ship of the USS Enterprise, one of the new Galaxy Class Starships. She was captained by Captain Donald Varley. However in 2365 the USS Enterprise responded to a distress call from the Yamato which was suffering systems failures. These failures were due to an Iconian Probe, launched from the Iconian homeworld which was causing their computer to rewrite its programming. Unfortunately before the Enterprise crew could assist the Yamato's Warp Drive exploded destroying the ship with all hands.
The incident with the Yamato cause Starfleet to look closely into Iconian Technology and now that their homeworld had been discovered, Captain Picard decided to destroy the Iconian Technology to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Romulans. Commander Taris who was involved in the Incident aboard the IRW Haakona began to become obsessed with the Iconians which led her to searching them out.
Starfleet didn't build a new USS Yamato until 2389, when a brand new Sovereign Class was ordered. The Current USS Yamato. She was launched in 2390 and placed in the hands of Captain Kaede Kayano. The new Yamato was built to be a show of force to the Klingon and Romulan Star Empires. Due to experimental and advanced technology the ship underwent a 22 month shakedown in which rigorous tests were performed on its new systems such as a new more efficient warp drive, weapons systems, science and surverying systems. In early 2393, the Yamato was temporarily assigned to Pegasus Fleet serving in Task Force Eleven to assist with a Gorn Threat emerging on the Klingon/Federation border. I
n 2394, the Yamato was stationed at Earth however on the abduction of Captain Kayano by a rogue Romulan Tal Shiar vessel, the Yamato was tasked with tracking them down and retrieving the Captain. The ship sustained light damage in the pursuit, but did manage to rescue the survivors of the USS Belfast which had been attacked by the Romulan Vessel. The ship was then assigned to patrol the Neutral Zones, respond to threats and to explore unexplored sectors. She served in the 23rd Task Force for Theta Fleet for two years and became the Task Force's Flagship when Captain Kayano became the Task Force Commanding Officer. In late 2394 the Yamato was assigned to Deep Space Nine on a Diplomatic Mission with the Dominion to open up trade with the Gamme Quadrant. However the talks broke down and the Yamato was the lead flagship at the Battle of Bajor where a combined Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian and Bajoran fleet faced off against the Dominion.
The Yamato survived the Battle of Bajor, however was badly damaged with over seventy two per cent of the ships systems destroyed. Starfleet towed the ship (Unable to sustain its own warp and life support power systems) back to Athena Shipyards, where she was to be decomissioned and broken apart.
The USS Yamato, NCC 71807 B was originally laid down as the USS Musashi and would have been Starfleet's newest prototype Sovereign Class Heavy Exploration/Attack Cruiser. The Musashi named after the 1940's Yamato\'s sister ship was to have installed upgrades that were tested on the Yamato NCC 71807 A and then improved by Starfleet Corps of Engineers. Originally the Yamato would have been refitted with these additional upgrades on its next refit cycle. However due to the ships impressive service and sacrifices made by the ships crew and its Captain, Kaede Kayano; Starfleet ordered a name change of the Musashi to the name of Yamato adding the letter B to the ships registry and allowing the ships legacy to continue. The Yamato then departed Athena Ship Yards in 2395, 11 months after the Battle of Bajor.
After that, The Yamato traversed the Gamma Quadrant on a top secret mission to cure the ships current XO, Commander Kablam. The Ship spent close to a year to seek out and locate the founders as Kablam was a changeling.
After the ship returned from the Gamma Quadrant, Commodore Kayano stepped down from Starfleet. The ship was then handed over to a new crew and captain.
In 2410, the Yamato was back in Drydock over Earth for a refit. Its original Captain, Kaede Kayano was asked to return back to Starfleet. With the ship now vacant of a crew and up for being decomissioned, Kaede requested that she take command of the Yamato again and return it back to active service.
